HOUSTON, March 26, 2019 — TreeTown USA announced today it has acquired one of the leading horticulture automation companies, Midas Nursery Solutions of Hillsboro, Oregon for an undisclosed amount.

The agreement represents TreeTown USA’s first acquisition that doesn’t consist of a nursery operation and further solidifies its continuing commitment to deploying the most advanced automation, mechanization, and lean practices available in the industry.

According to TreeTown USA CEO Jonathan Saperstein, “The intellectual capital that Midas has developed over the years will go a long way in helping us develop, implement and institutionalize industry leading solutions to mechanization and lean practices.” Midas president Matt Gold will assume the newly-created position of director of continuous improvement with TreeTown USA’s industrial engineering and project teams reporting to him.

Matt Gold, Midas Nursery Solutions president, commented, “The opportunity to work alongside the excellent leadership team at TreeTown USA and have access to TreeTown USA’s tremendous resources to help them achieve their objectives was something I just couldn’t pass up.”

Going forward, Midas will no longer support outside companies and will concentrate only on TreeTown USA. However, a new company that has no affiliation with TreeTown USA is being formed to fill the gap Midas Nursery Solutions left and will serve both current and future Midas customers.
